Easy Steps + Play Plan = Results

Kaizen Muse creativity coaching is a combination of two words and techniques.  Kaizen is a Japenese word for improvement through small steps.  Muse is creative inspiration.  When you combine the two you get a unique and powerful artist coaching method. Stone Steps

Kaizen Muse embraces the art and science of human creativity. With Kaizen the creative process is broken into very small steps.  These steps help establish new, long lasting and healthy creative habits.   Scientific studies have revealed how the brain works and with Kaizen this understanding is used to reshape your thinking to overcome procrastination, negative self talk, fears and all other issues that are normal in the creative process.

The Muse is about imagination, playfulness and the experience of creative flow.  Funscriptions and Playtentions are used to free your creativity and to engage your inner arist in the non linear creative process.  Compassion and gentleness are essential to this model.   The focus is on successes and strengths to gain self confidence and new productive habits that make starting, working on and completing a project easier.

Kaizen Muse creativity coaching helps you overcome blocks, such as:

  • all types of fears (example:  fear of success, fear of failure, fear of responsibility)
  • procrastination
  • self sabotage
  • negative self talk and inner critic
  • perfectionism
  • low self esteem
  • overwhelm
  • lack of focus
  • difficulty starting or finishing a project
  • creativity chaos

Sneak Past the Saber Tooth Tiger

Tiger RoarsIn the past, during the caveman era, when we felt fear it was often a life or death situation.  You were out in the woods looking for food and you run into a Saber Tooth Tiger.  Your brain kicks into the fight or fiight mode – you quickly decide to either fight the tiger or run away from it.

This was very useful in the past because you don’t want to waste anytime thinking about the decision.  If you think to long you’d be a nice afternoon snack for the tiger.  This response remains useful today if you find yourself being mugged or have a car about to crash into you on the highway.

However, any fear, including the ones that are a normal part of the creative process can wake up this fight or flight response.  Think of your fears as the modern day Saber Tooth Tiger.  For example, procrastination can be seen as a flight response to the fear of failure.   The Saber Tooth Tiger is the fear of failure.  The response is flight as you run away from the project and avoid working on it.

Kaizen Muse creativity coaching is a gentle method that uses innotative tools to help you sneak past the tiger.  It uses very small steps to help you deal with fears and other creative issues and replaces them with new patterns of thinking and acting.  Please use the Request Coaching Form to contact us for more information or to arrange artist and creativity coaching sessions.
